Masquerade Character
Pronouns: he/him
Clan: Clan Samedi
Sect: The Camarilla
City: Pittsburgh PA
Player: Frank Hayden

Notable Traits

Appearance: A polished skeleton in a pinstripe suit and occasionally a tophat, Dr. Ombee smells of enough of cigar smoke and bourbon that it mostly masks the underlying scent of decay.
Path: The Z.O.O. Keeper is on a Path of Enlightenment.

The Mask

Whip and acting Primogen of Acquisitions. Works with a group called the Bureau of Obscure Nocturnal Enigmas to handle ghost and other weird supernatural problems. Likes alcohol, cigars, and a good party. Attends Philosophical Salons and is on a Path of Enlightenment. Runs a Cult of the Dead that includes mortals far too interested in death and ghosts looking for help interacting with the world.

Timeline

1925: Zacharius Omadeus Ombee III, Esquire came to the city in 1925, peddling an answer to the Sable's ghostly spy network. He famously did not predict the explosion of 1927, which was a black mark that haunted his career for years afterwards. He continued to be a part of the city's efforts against the Sable Family going forward, with remarkably more success.
1940s: The ZOO Keeper began a cult of the dead in the city that took thorough root around the mid to late 1940s. Zacharias tends to the emotional needs of the dead and starts bringing in assets to the court from his connections. This is also when he gets the nickname, the ZOO Keeper
1960s: The ZOO Keeper attracts the attention of The Family Man and starts working for the Office of Acquisitions.
1972: Becomes Whip of the Office of Aquisitions.
1983: The Family Man entered Torpor and the ZOO Keeper becomes acting Primogen of Acquisition.
2002: The ZOO Keeper formed the Bureau of Obscure Nocturnal Enigmas to deal with thaumaturgic, necromantic, and non-vampire supernatural issues. Primarily, they deal with Ghosts

Seeking Ties

  • Employers who needed help with a ghost or Sable problem
  • Fellow Occultists and Nerds (Necromancy, Thaumaturgy, or exotic Lores) willing to tackle the city's more eccentric problems.
  • Anyone with a strong connection to the Sable family, antagonistic or allied.
  • Drinking buddies
  • Anyone who wants to go out and acquire stuff with the Office of Acquisitions.
  • Rivals, particularly for The Family Man's attention, occult nonsense, or control over mortal assets.
  • Characters that care about philosophy, paths, or death. Could be friendly or enemy.

Rumors

  • Oh sure, someone without a proper lineage and ghost powers conveniently shows up to the city that has ghost problems. Are we supposed to believe he is the first person in his entire lineage to have a clue and join the Camarilla? He's probably a plant.
  • Ombee absolutely, positively loves bone and skeleton based puns, on account of him being a skeleton. He acts like he hates them in public, but trust me saying as many of them as possible will add tremendous joy to this court.
  • He works for those changelings, werewolves, and mages The Family Man is too involved with. Look how quickly they got so close.
  • He once paid a Major Boon to get Ghosts the same rights as humans in the court. He was successful, and now Ghosts have the right to... ... ... ... *checks notes* ...nothing.
  • He is probably a plant for the Giovanni. Rather convenient that he didn't prevent two of their biggest wins, isn't it? He definitely has Ghost and Zombie lovers like them. I'd say he screws his family, too, but, well... have you seen his family?
  • He might actually just be a Zombie and not a Vampire. I mean, have you ever actually seen anything vampire-ish from him?
  • He performs a wide variety of necromancy experiments best not talked about in public, or at all.
  • He is a plant for the Camarilla. No, I will not elaborate further.
