“Fellow citizens, when I look at Pittsburgh I see the City of Bridges. The City of Steel. The City of Iron. I see the city I love and cherish so very much…but…something is wrong it seems. In light of recent events I have had to step forward as a member of this community and say no more. No more can we deny the troubles of our time. The tides of a greater conflict is upon our city, but I look out and I see you Pittsburgh. I see the real you. Uncle Arthur is here, and we are gonna make this right!

We have seen our homes and communities fall to crime, fall to poverty, fall to joblessness. When I look around at the city I love I…as unimaginable as these tidings may be these are the signs of our time. I’m not here to sugar coat it for you. Uncle Arthur sees what you see. I hear what you hear. I call upon YOU, yes you. Right now. In unity there is strength, and I have begun to seek out a coalition of concerned citizens in this city to help me take back our city and do what we do best in Pittsburgh…WE ARE GONNA BUILD THAT BRIDGE. We are gonna come together, and we’re gonna do this together.

And from those differing groups and peoples we are going to forge an indivisible whole, all working together for a single purpose. When I am elected Mayor, a heavy crown to wear in these trying times, you have no need to fear. From that hallowed office Uncle Arthur will protect and watch over you. Let this call to reason be the wake up this city requires. Let no agency conspire against this new beginning in Pittsburgh, because we are here to unite. Not divide. We are going to win through.

We are going to win through no matter the cost.” -Arthur Primm
